The FIFA is running wild since a couple of months, and there are lots of stories about it out there. However, I think they’ve now finally had it. A fan so enthusiastic about getting tickets to the top seller world championship game Angola-Iran printed his own T-Shirt stating “WM 2006 Iran – Angola, Ich war dabei!” and added it to his spreadshirt partner shop. FIFA sued him and made Spreadshirt take the shop down. I gave up applying for tickets after the first round, as I found the fun about the sport to be largely inhibited by bureaucratic asswipes, but this really is the sickest the FIFA can do to show they give a damn about soccer and really just think about the profit.
After listening to yesterdays ‘Ehrensenf‘, I finally couldn’t help to waste some time and energy and did as they suggest, sending the FIFA what I think about them.
I encourage everyone to do the same, and please feel free to use their contact adress for media requests media@fifa.org:
Dear FIFA Commitee, not so dear Mr Blatter
looking at the FIFA behaviour around the WM 2006 (please don’t sue me for using the copyrighted name here) I feel like telling you that you are areal disgrace and a traitor to the sport to every soccer fan around the world.
With the WM 2006 (again, please don’t sue me) finally taking place in my own country, I stopped applying for tickets, and will boykott the WM (ah, well, go ahead an sue me).
In a way, I admire your unscrupulousness of making countries and goverments pay for your own benefit and financing the army of bloodsu… lawyers, that you harass the world with now. But I think you should rather manage the womens soccer league in Afghanistan.
I’ve got a nice view on the FIFA headquarters, living in Zurich at the moment, and should it burn down, I will happily come and roast some sausages on the smoldering remains, that is about the only good it could do, I am afraid.Happily awaiting an anti-terror command to burst my doors
Yours sincerely
